Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional technical service and support to our clients in industrial environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of CNC equipment, and the ability to work independently at customer sites. Your work will directly contribute to the optimal performance of our customers' operations. Specific field service work around Machining - including NC, PLC, and potentially CNC service technician work is preferred!
Key Responsibilities
Travel regularly to customer sites to perform service and technical support.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on CNC routers and machining centers.
Diagnose and repair issues involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Calibrate and adjust machinery for peak performance.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Collaborate directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Install, test, and commission new equipment.
Train customers on proper operation and preventive maintenance procedures.
Accurately document service activities including parts used, labor hours, and customer communications.
Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S.
Proven experience in a field service or similar role in industrial settings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently in the field.
Familiarity with grinding machinery and related industrial equipment is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in wiring control systems (480V / 120V / 24V), including drives, motors, I/O, and sensors.
Experience installing and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and general mechanical systems.
Ability to read and understand complex schematics and blueprints.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Formal technical training or certifications preferred.
Experience with CNC, NC, or PLC-based machinery.
Familiarity with Fanuc control systems is highly desirable.
This is a Direct Hire position with a range of 25-35/hr. or 52,000 - 70,000/yr.
